Accessibility doesn't speak just one language. Over 60% of internet users browse in a language other than English, yet most accessibility tools are only available in English. That changes today.
With FocusFlow v2.5, we're proud to introduce full multilingual support across 8 languages — making FocusFlow one of the most internationally accessible reading extensions available.
🌍 Supported Languages
FocusFlow v2.5 is fully localized in the following languages:
- Deutsch (German)
- English
- Espanol (Spanish)
- Francais (French)
- Portugues (Brasil) (Brazilian Portuguese)
- Portugues (Portugal) (European Portuguese)
- Hindi
- Japanese
Every label, tooltip, setting description, and notification in the extension has been translated. This isn't a partial or machine-only translation — we've ensured that the interface feels natural and clear in every supported language.
🔄 Automatic Language Detection
You don't need to configure anything. FocusFlow automatically detects your browser's default language setting and switches to the matching locale. If your Chrome is set to French, FocusFlow will greet you in French the moment you open it.
🗣️ Text to Speech in Every Language
Multilingual support goes beyond the interface. Our new Text to Speech feature also works across all supported languages. Select text on any page and hear it read aloud using your system's native voice for that language.
This means a Hindi-speaking student in Delhi and a Japanese-speaking professional in Tokyo both get the same full-featured, localized experience — interface, reading tools, and audio, all in their native language.
🇧🇷 🇵🇹 Why Two Portuguese Locales?
You might wonder why we support both Brazilian Portuguese and European Portuguese separately. While they share the same roots, the two variants have meaningful differences in vocabulary, grammar, and even spelling conventions since the 2009 orthographic reform. A Brazilian reader encountering European Portuguese text (or vice versa) can find certain terms confusing or unfamiliar.
We believe in getting the details right. By supporting both variants, we ensure that over 260 million Portuguese speakers worldwide see an interface that feels truly native to them.
🌐 Why Multilingual Accessibility Matters
Reading disabilities and visual processing challenges don't stop at language borders.
- Dyslexia affects an estimated 10% of the global population — that's nearly 800 million people across every language and country.
- ADHD is diagnosed in approximately 5-7% of children and 2-5% of adults worldwide.
- Visual stress from screen glare affects readers regardless of the language they read in.
By localizing FocusFlow, we're ensuring that people who need these tools the most — readers who already face challenges processing text — aren't further burdened by navigating an interface in a foreign language.
More Languages Coming Soon
These 8 languages are just the beginning. We're actively working on expanding support to additional languages based on user feedback and demand. If your language isn't listed yet, let us know — your input directly shapes our roadmap.
FocusFlow's mission has always been to make the web accessible to everyone. With v2.5, "everyone" just got a lot bigger.
